Where to find us?
The Black Cat Centre was recently located at the former Porter Butt pub, London Road, Bath, BA1 6AE, next door to Morrisons and opposite the E$$o. One of the city's best venues may have lost its late license and faded away to financial crash, but Black Cat woz 'ere, proud to contribute to the heritage of the listed, 1787-founded dive/punk house.
...is an occupied community co-operative social centre that attempts to foster the ideas of community solidarity, empowerment and strength. We aim to provide a space in which the community can attend or create any number or exciting, interesting and active workshops, meetings, clubs, gigs and other events. We already offer loads of activities, such as a library, freeshop, low cost cafe and a huge range of workshops, debates and skillshares, so why not come along and join in, or better yet, start your own group or activity at the Black cat.
As well as being a liberated space for the community, the Black Cat stands for mutual aid, freedom from oppression, and counter capitalism and seeks to create a space in which everyone is equal.
Black Cat is a not for profit centre, and all costs are on a strictly suggested donation basis.
